Our History...
The origin of the firm began on June 1, 1983 when Raymond S. Cota, CPA established the firm in the Burlington, Vermont area. Effective July 1, 1984, the firm was incorporated as Cota & Towne, P.C. and on August 1, 1995, merged into Telling-Besaw-Cota, CPAs P.L.L.C. The Firm of Cota CPA, PC was the result of a de-merger of the Williston/Burlington, Vermont office of Telling-Besaw-Cota, CPAs, P.L.L.C. effective August 1, 1997. Throughout these changes in organizational structure, Raymond S. Cota, CPA has continued to be in-charge of the Williston/Burlington office and has the expertise in and understanding of what it takes to run a business.

Cota CPA, PC was established as a professional corporation under the laws of the State of Vermont for the purpose of providing certified public accounting and consulting services. The firm is a member of the New England Peer Review, Inc.'s peer review program. As part of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) peer review program, a review of the firm's system of quality control for the accounting and auditing practice of the firm is required every three years. Cota CPA's latest peer review was conducted for the year ended September 30, 2008 and resulted in Cota CPA, PC receiving an unmodified opinion.
